Improving Carbon Biomass Monitoring with QIMA

SC Solutions has announced a strategic partnership with CERTIS/QIMA, a global leader in testing, inspection, certification, and compliance services, to make environmental monitoring and carbon farming more efficient and accessible.

Accurate measurement and verification of carbon sequestration are crucial for maintaining the credibility and effectiveness of carbon farming projects, which are becoming increasingly important due to the climate crisis.

However, tracking biomass over time is complex and costly, requiring reliable measurement and data collection techniques.

SC Solutions is committed to utilizing its AI-driven Earth Observation (EO) analytics platform, I-Sat, which provides precise analysis of carbon biomass across various vegetation types.

The partnership focuses on remote biomass monitoring through satellite imagery, a vital component in accurately assessing carbon emissions and supporting emission reduction efforts.

Remote sensing technology will complement CERTIS’s expertise in agricultural practices, becoming a cornerstone of the CERTIS Carbon Certification (CCC+) Program.

“At SC Solutions, we are dedicated to leveraging innovation to promote sustainability. By integrating our advanced space and EO technology with CERTIS/QIMA’s industry-leading capabilities, we aim to deliver actionable insights that drive real change,” said Ziheng Xiang, Chief Technology Officer of SC Solutions.

“This partnership emphasizes our commitment to using technology to create positive environmental outcomes and represents a pivotal moment in our mission to address critical environmental challenges,” said Luis Vaz Freire, Head of the Forestry Department at CERTIS.

The combination of SC Solutions’ cutting-edge space technology with CERTIS/QIMA’s industry knowledge and practical expertise creates a unique approach to addressing environmental challenges in forestry and agriculture. Together, they are driving the future of environmental monitoring and empowering businesses globally to embed sustainability into their operations.
